Business Wayfinding

When something in your business needs to change, but you are not yet clear about what or how

You may be questioning your offer, struggling to communicate the value of your work, avoiding visibility, or finding that your current way of building is no longer sustainable.

Perhaps you have been circling the same decision for months. You have gathered advice, tried different strategies, and thought deeply about the problem, but you still do not know where to place your attention.

Or perhaps you know what needs to happen, but something keeps getting in the way of doing it.

Business Wayfinding gives you space to step back from the immediate problem, understand what is actually happening, and identify what requires your attention now.

It begins with a free 45-minute Wayfinding Conversation.

What is Business Wayfinding?

When something is not working, it is tempting to move immediately towards a solution.

Change the offer. Rewrite the website. Post more consistently. Choose a niche. Fix the funnel. Become more disciplined.

One of those actions may eventually be right. But acting before you understand the problem can send you further down a route that does not fit.

You may not need another generic answer. You may need orientation: a clearer understanding of what is actually happening, what is shaping the situation, and what needs your attention now.

Why begin with a Wayfinding Conversation?

We begin with a conversation because the support you need is not always obvious from the problem you first arrive with.

During this free 45-minute conversation, we can explore what is happening in your business, what you want to understand or change, and whether Business Wayfinding is a useful place to begin.

  • Discuss what is happening in your business
  • Consider what you hope to understand or change
  • Explore whether deeper Wayfinding work would be useful
  • Answer your questions about how I work

Whether or not deeper work turns out to be the right next step, the conversation may help you see the situation differently or identify a more useful question to explore.

You do not need to prepare a polished explanation of the problem. Come with the situation as you currently understand it. We can begin there.

What we explore

Your business is not separate from the person building it, and no business decision exists outside its wider context. Together, we look across three interconnected dimensions.

  • Your work and expertise

The craft at the heart of what you offer, the value it creates, and whether your offers reflect its depth and direction.

  • Your business

The offers, positioning, pricing, marketing, client journey and structures that make the work viable.

  • You as entrepreneur

The judgement, identity, self-leadership and capacity required to build and lead the business.

Context shapes all three

Looking across the whole system helps us move beyond the visible symptom, locate where the real constraint may sit, and understand what needs attention next.

You do not need the whole map. You need a clearer view of where you are.

When the conversation points to deeper work

The Wayfinding Conversation helps us understand what you are facing and whether a deeper process is the right next step. If we decide to continue, we work together across six weeks.

That time allows us to do more than talk about the problem. Between sessions, I analyse and synthesise what is emerging. We develop your Business Wayfinding Companion together, and you take a meaningful experiment, decision or change back into the real conditions of your business to see what it reveals.

We do not assume in advance that the answer is another strategy or that the difficulty is simply a matter of mindset. The work is to understand where the real constraint sits and what your particular situation requires.

The Wayfinding process

  1. 01

    Orientation and Grounding

I create a thoughtful space in which you do not need to arrive with the answer or rush towards one. We ground the conversation in what is true now for you and map what is happening across your work, your business and your role in it.

  2. 02

    Sense-making and Co-creation

Between sessions, I bring together what I have heard and noticed. We examine it together, test it against your experience and develop a shared understanding of what is happening and what may need attention.

  3. 03

    Experimentation

You take what has emerged back into the real conditions of your business through a small experiment, decision or change. I remain available as you notice what happens, learn and adjust.

  4. 04

    Integration and Reorientation

We integrate what the experience has revealed and reorient from there. We consider what you now understand, what has shifted and what requires your attention next.

Your Business Wayfinding Companion

The Business Wayfinding Companion is a working map and reusable practice for making sense of your business as you, the business, and the terrain change.

Between sessions, I analyse and synthesise what emerges from our conversations. We then examine and refine it together, and it continues to develop as you test what we have uncovered in your actual business.

It brings together your current orientation, the patterns and tensions shaping the situation, what appears to need attention, and the questions, priorities, experiments and possible next steps that emerge.

It is not a generic report or a fixed map of what you should do. It is a practical navigation tool you can return to after our work together, to reflect on what has changed, revisit the questions and priorities that emerged, and reorient as your business develops.

Over time, it can help you move through your own Wayfinding process again: noticing where you are now, what the terrain is asking of you and what may need your attention next. It does not replace your judgement. It supports your capacity to find your way.

What you leave with

  • A coherent understanding of what is happening and what is shaping it
  • Recognition of where the real constraint appears to sit
  • A decision, development priority or experiment to take forward
  • Your personalised Business Wayfinding Companion, a navigation tool you can return to as your business develops

The purpose is not to manufacture certainty. It is to help you become sufficiently oriented to make a more grounded choice.

Is this a useful place to begin?

You do not need to arrive with a perfectly articulated problem. Helping you understand what needs attention is part of the work.

This may be for you if

  • Something in your business is not working, but you cannot yet identify the real problem
  • You know what needs to change but keep struggling to make it happen
  • You are circling an important decision and cannot find a way through it
  • Your offers, positioning, or direction no longer feel coherent
  • You have consumed a great deal of advice but are less certain about what fits you
  • You have completed your training or certification and are now wondering, “What next? How do I build a business around this work?”
  • Your business is growing or changing and asking something new of you
  • The way you have been building no longer fits your life, values, responsibilities, or capacity
  • You want thoughtful challenge and perspective without being handed another formula

This is probably not for you if

  • You want to be told what to do and handed a plan to follow
  • You need an immediate answer rather than a process of inquiry and experimentation over several weeks
  • You are looking for someone to carry out the work rather than think it through with you
  • What you actually need is specialist advice: legal, financial, technical, or clinical
  • You are not in a position to act on what we uncover, and this would serve you better later

You do not need to know the full answer or be certain that you have identified the right problem.

If something in your business needs to change, we can begin with the situation as you currently understand it.
